My Lily

Published March 21, 2013

As I walked past the front entry to my house the other day I noticed my Easter lily was once again making its annual appearance. This is always a time of great joy and excitement for me. I planted this lily eight years ago and year after year it has made an appearance. It is always a joy to see that it has survived another year of hibernation. And I am excited because I know that soon I will celebrate the greatest event in history, the resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Satan thought the victory was his when Christ died on the cross at Calvary, but God….

Acts 3:13-15

New International Version (NIV)

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. 14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. 15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.

I am so very grateful for the ‘but God’, because the last enemy to be destroyed is death, and I too can cry out with confidence and boldness, “Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting”? (1Co.15:26, 54-55)

Praise God! Praise God! Praise God!
