Beyond Your Wildest Imaginations!

When I write personal letters or thank you notes I often close them with this valediction; “May you be blessed beyond your wildest imaginations”! On several occasions I have been told this is a great sign off, and where did I come up with it? I wish I could say it was my original thought, however I must admit, the foundation for this comes from Paul’s epistle to the church in Ephesus. In his prayer for the Ephesians, Paul uses a very similar closing;

Ephesians 3:20-21

New International Version (NIV)

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

I simply adapted my closing using certain key words or phrases from the final verses of chapter three.

In giving glory to God, Paul points out that it is God who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. Let your imaginations run wild with the potential of immeasurably more blessings that we may have in Christ!

Notice the words immeasurably more. To me this means, cannot measure, unable to measure, and my choice of words, beyond measure. What really catches my attention is the word more. I cannot begin to fathom the idea of, more beyond measure. To be perfectly honest, I certainly desire the more beyond measure!

Paul tells us too, that the more, is given according to God’s power within us.

I desire more beyond measure of God’s power in my life, because you see, it is this power that enables me to stand strong against Satan!

Perhaps, those in my correspondences may be going through a trial or difficult time or perhaps they just need a reminder of God’s blessings in their lives.

All I know for sure, God has, still does, and always will, bless me beyond my wildest imaginations.

It is my sincere prayer; He does the same for you!
