My Confession

Without Him

Mylon R. Le Fevre

Without Him I could do nothing
Without Him I’d surely fail
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail

Without Him I would be dying
Without Him I’d be enslaved
Without Him life would be worthless
But with Jesus thank God I’m saved

Oh Jesus, oh Jesus
Do you know Him today
Please don’t turn Him away
Oh Jesus, my Jesus
Without Him how lost I would be
Without Him how lost I would be

The old hymns are wonderful, they are a great source of affirmation for the need of Christ in our lives.

In my search for the title of a hymn that my wife and I had been discussing, I came across this wonderful hymn. I had just gone through a very difficult and trying day. Challenges that often accompany ministry had been particularly frustrating. So much so I was questioning my faith in and relationship with, Christ.

Finding this wonderful hymn had God’s perfect timing all over it. Was it coincidence? I think not. God has many ways of bringing appropriate comfort and strength to our lives when we most need it. In my case it was in the form of a simple hymn.  It was the perfect reminder at the perfect moment.  This wonderful hymn perfectly captures my confession of life without Jesus.

It is my prayer that it will do the same for you!
