The Power of a Tool

Published December 6, 2012

Once I accepted the opportunity to establish a blog many questions arose. Why me? What qualifies me? Who would want to hear what I have to say? I have no college degrees, no completed special training or higher education. A life I personally feel could be considered fairly boring. Who would want to hear my thoughts, my ideas, my teaching and instruction? Where do I start? What do I say? Will it be relevant? Will it be Interesting? How do I keep it going? How do I find the time? Do I have the discipline to create a post every day, once a week, or once a month? I guess only time and the desire to see if I can really do it will give me answers.

I consider myself to be introverted and quite insecure in facing challenges that would reveal my ignorance or lack of knowledge. However I am blessed by great encourager’s in my life. I, to my great surprise, have discovered that people do feel that they and others can learn from my knowledge, my experiences, and my life. Some have expressed that perhaps it is my heart and my spirit that give me unique qualities to also be an encourager. I am not very comfortable with that thought! But with that said I feel that perhaps the role of encourager is one I need to accept and build upon. Therefore the blog! It does have the great possibility of becoming a very important platform to build upon.

I love tools! Living a life of hard physical work I soon started to appreciate and respect any tool that would make my work easier. Often times a particular tool that I knew would make my task easier was just not affordable. There never seemed to be enough in the budget. But a blog is very inexpensive and has the potential to be a very effective and powerful tool. So the thought finally broke through my thick and stubborn skull, why not a blog? It has the potential to be a very effective and powerful tool. And I with the help of my encourager’s get to make this tool!

Stay tuned!
